In 1974 the F-15 Eagle entered service as the U.S. Air Force's most modern fighter aircraft.
Built by Mc Donnell-Douglas, it soon became the back-bone of the U.S. air defence into the 1990's. The F-15E Strike eagle represents a ground attack version of the platform and is equipped with a large number of bombs and rockets.
