The M-108 self-propelled artillery was introduced, in the early 1960's to satisfy a specific need of the U.S. Army which was to develop a high mobility howitzer able to replace the aging M52.

The M-108 mobility achieved this requirement thanks to the powerful turbocharged diesel 8-cylinder engine and the efficient suspension system. The armament was formed by the 105mm howitzer and by 1, 12.7mm machine gun fitted to the rooftop, for close defense purposes.

The Italeri range of kits are manufactured from tough styrene plastic and provide a high level of scale detail.
